John bought Ike as a 16 week old youngster and has spent a great deal of time "manning" and training him. He is now a very well mannered bird and is trained to hunt mainly rabbit.
Red-Tailed Hawks are native to North America and are about the size of a Common Buzzard.
The name comes from his striking copper-red tail.
